The Ultimate Anti-Venom

Tonight I was listening to Jeff Ell, author of Ruth Uncensored (http://www.amazon.com/Ruth-Uncensored-Story-Thought-Knew/dp/0980019621) share about bitterness. He was telling how snake bite anti-venom was discovered.

Apparently, it began by “milking” the snakes, a process in which the fangs are pressed through a rubber layer into a jar where the venom is collected. Then doses of venom were injected into horses with increasing levels. The hope was that eventually one could use the horse’s blood for anti-venom. The problem arose when they realized that humans do not receive horse blood very well. However, they discovered that humans are very receptive to the blood of lambs.

The bible tells us that Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. His blood applied to our hearts is the anti-venom to bitterness and disappointment that can so easily grip our hearts.

Father I pray that you would apply the blood of Jesus to my heart.

  1. This is so good. I keep rereading this and coming back to that statement "humans are very receptive to the blood of lambs"-man, that packs a punch! I love it when man discovers evidence that God planned ahead to have natural realities reflect the message of salvation.:)
