This December at Redeeming Love Fellowship we are exploring a
corporate focus in our prayer titled "These Three Keys." As I
was looking for a visual to represent this I came across several pictures of pianos.
It was then that I realized "These Three Keys" are more like
three keys on a piano than keys to a door. The three keys when played
together sound a chord. A chord is a beautiful and powerful sound on the
piano. Ecclesiasties 4:12b says "a chord of three strands is not
quickly broken." I believe that God is giving us the prayer chord of
heaven for this season that is not easily broken. This past week we talked about the first key.
Key #1 - The Favor of the Lord is Set Toward You, and you are
walking in His divine help.
Psalm 90:16-17
16 Let Your work [the signs of Your power] be
revealed to Your servants, and Your [glorious] majesty to their children.
17 And let the beauty and delightfulness and favor
of the Lord our God be upon us; confirm and establish the work
of our hands—yes, the work of our hands, confirm and establish
it.
This is a beauiful prayer in Psalm 90 that speaks to four key
areas.
1) Power -
We are asking God for His work and power to be revealed in our lives.
“How God anointed Jesus
of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about
doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with
Him.” - Act 10:38
2) Inheritance -
We are asking God for the revelation of the "riches of our
inheritance" that we have and the strategy to leave an inheritance for the
generations to come.
3) Confirmation -
We are asking the Lord to confirm His word and our work with signs and wonders.
4) Establishment -
We are asking the Lord to establish the work of our hands, that we would be
part of His everlasting Kingdom.
In Numbers 6: 24-26 we read of the Lord's blessing for His
children. That the favor of His face would shine upon you.
24 The Lord bless
you, and keep you;
25 The Lord make
His face shine on you,
And be gracious to you;
And be gracious to you;
26 The Lord lift
up His countenance on you,
And give you peace.’
And give you peace.’
Here is a song written by Misty Edwards that has put this
scripture to music. I encourage you to use the song as a tool in your
prayer time. It often helps me meditate on scripture.
